#InsideAuxivo: Meet Silvia Rohner

ree

When Silvia talks about her work, you can immediately tell: she’s driven by more than technology. For her, innovation only makes sense when it improves people’s lives.

“Developing products that truly improve people’s quality of life. That’s what motivates me,” she says. “For me, it’s all about inclusion by innovation.”

It’s this mindset that led Silvia to join Auxivo as Product and Regulatory Affairs Lead. She sees exoskeletons not just as wearable devices, but as tools to empower people – helping them work, move, and live with less strain and more freedom.

Building something new

Silvia describes her role as being an entrepreneur within the company: someone who’s setting up something new for an entire industry. What excites her most is collaborating with people from very different backgrounds – engineers, researchers, users – to create new solutions.

She smiles when she talks about the future of exoskeletons.

“In the long run, exoskeletons should become invisible,” she says. “They should be so intuitive and comfortable that you barely notice you’re wearing one. That’s the ultimate goal of usability.”

How it all started

Her fascination with wearable robotics began during her first degree in human movement sciences, where she helped people regain mobility. Later, she deepened her expertise in robotics engineering, where she’s been hooked ever since.

“I see the human body as a biomechanical system,” she explains. “If something in that system doesn’t work properly, we can use mechanical solutions to bring it back to balance. That’s what I find so powerful about exoskeletons.”

Beyond work

Outside of Auxivo, Silvia’s life is also full of movement – just in a different form. She’s a mother of two and loves staying active through jazz dance and sports.

When asked what matters most to her at work, she doesn’t hesitate:

“A strong team culture. Working with people who bring different perspectives – that’s when real innovation happens.”

And if you ever visit her desk, you’ll certainly spot a bag of gummy bears. “You never know when you or someone else might need a little boost.”

Looking ahead

Silvia’s journey at Auxivo has just begun, but her vision is already clear: to build something meaningful. Something, that quietly changes how people work and move every day.

Welcome to the team, Silvia. We’re happy you’re here. 💙
